TAKE NO THOUGHT OF TOMORROW

TAKE NO THOUGHT OF TOMORROW

What is worry? It is a troubled state of mind that causes anxiety, distress and uneasiness. It is something that causes mental distress.

If you are anxious or having anxiety, concerned or worried about an event. Maybe an uncertain future, a moment which disturbs the mind and keeps it in the state of painful uneasiness.

Matthew 6: 31-34     31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Take no though here means don’t worry, the Greek text actually means that even one anxious though is forbidden because it shows a distrust in the Lord.

Verse 32 is telling us that the Heavenly Father knows what we have need of. All of the things that pertain to life and godliness.

Verse 33, is saying you must seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness for you to receive all of God’s provision for your life.

Take no thought of tomorrow is talking about there is no promise of tomorrow. When you worry about things you start getting over into the area of your soul, which is made up of your mind, will and emotions.

Your mind is what you think with, your will is what you want, and you act on your emotions.

Worry will cause your mind to go into a troubled state and leads you to doubting, doubting God’s word. At that point your WILL decides what you want and goes into an anxiety state of mind.

At this point your emotions cause to act on and react to and it puts you into a mental mess.

That is why the verse 6:34 says take no though for tomorrow. We are to keep trusting our Lord no matter what trial we face.

We are made up of body, soul and spirit.

Ephesians 1:13   13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Once you have heard the word and believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit.

Even though your spirit is sealed, you still have to deal with your flesh and soul.

Your soul is not sealed. You may ask why? It is because when you were created God gave you a free will and your soul is responsible for keeping your soul righteous before God.

Our soul is what will be judge when we stand before Christ Jesus.

Stay focused on the word today. Tomorrow will take care of itself. If you have a mountain in your life speak to the mountain.

This mountain that I am referring to is the enemy attacking you and the only thing you have to defeat this mountain is faith.

Faith will move mountains. Use the power and authority that is in the name of Jesus. It will be all you need to break the chains and cast this mountain out of your life.

It is impossible to have peace in your life if worry is involved, worry will hinder your joy, which is your strength.

Without God’s peace and joy, you will wear down because you are using your own strength, and eventually you will end up with a big mess of stress.

This is when you need to make a decision to turn to God and tell Him, I need Your help Lord to get through this.

If you are sincere God will break the chains in your life and move you from the natural way of thinking to thinking in His supernatural way.

Stay in the Word and lean on His strength in all things. He is waiting to hear from you. He wants to help you with your daily walk.

You Are A Conquer

 You Are A Conquer

If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, you have been called to conquer.

There are a lot of people that go to church and have not been saved, however that is not what this lesson is focusing on.

Romans 10:13   For who so Ever shall call upon the name of the Lord Shall be saved.

Being saved means you won’t have to spend eternity in hell. It is just that simple.

Just being saved does not make you a conqueror. To be a conqueror you must…

First have the knowledge

Second you must have the wisdom to use the knowledge in an effective way…

Third your spiritual attitude must be dedicated to winning…

Then you must know the power you have through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Above all you must know who your enemy is.

Being saved is just not enough to be a conqueror. A newborn Christian is saved but they don’t have the wisdom of God to be a conqueror.

To begin with you need to know what the full armor is. A new or unlearned Christian doesn’t have that knowledge.

As a matter of fact, very few Christians have even been taught about the full armor of God.

So how do we become conquerors for Christ?

Number one you must not have the spirit of fear.

2 Timothy 1:7   For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

The spirit of fear is evil and from the devil. It will put you into bondage, that will lead you farther away from God than you want to go.

It will lead you into the spirit of confusion and cause stress in your life, that can lead to depression.

Then it becomes a situation of having no hope. That is Americas problem today, lost hope.

Second thing we must know that we have dominion over Satan.

Ephesians 6:12   12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Today even Christians do not want to admit that demonic and evil spirits are real.

So just being a Christian alone does not make you a conqueror. If God has called you to be a conquer then there must be a war going on.

Romans 8: 37   Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

We become more than conquerors through Him who loves us.

To conquer something, you must first have victory over the something or be victorious over a situation.

To be a victor is to have final and complete supremacy in battle or war.

If God has called you to be a conqueror then there must be a war going on.

1st Corinthians 15:57   but thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

You have to be victorious in and through our Lord Jesus Christ; you can’t be victorious in a spiritual war fighting with carnal weapons.

2nd Corinthians 10: 3-4   for though we walk in the flesh we do not war after the flesh.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the Pulling down of strongholds.

Now what is a stronghold?

It is a place having strong defenses.

Satan has strong defenses, but thanks be to God,for he has covered that for us also.

1st John 5: 4-5   For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

1st John 4: 4   Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Meaning Gods spirit that is in you is greater than the spirits that roam the earth.

Romans 8: 28   And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

To be a conqueror we have to know who we are in Christ Jesus.

Then we need to know WHAT we can do through Christ.

And last, we have to know WHEN to conquer.

You can know who, where and what; but if you do not know when you are in a state of confusion.

We have to be objective like Jesus in his ministry, or like Daniel in Babylon, or even like Joseph in Egypt.

The things that are happening to us in our daily lives are likely to be our own fault

Hosea 4:6   My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Sometimes people suffer because some preacher doesn’t agree with what the word says, rather he agrees with what doctrine says.

They will argue and say I can’t help what the word says; our association doesn’t believe that way.

Well do they think they know more than the word of God?

If you are going to believe some of Gods word, and not all of Gods word, you might be saved but you will never be a conqueror

Rev 3:21   To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Here is the way in; I am not going to leave you hanging… Jesus has invited us to share the throne with him…

Eph 2: 6   And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Paul is saying: God has brought us back to live together with Christ Jesus and has given us a position in heaven with him…

God saved us and through faith as an act of kindness, we had nothing to do with it, being saved is a gift from God.

The word says, your welcome to the throne room, but first you have to meet a few personal conditions…

Once these conditions are met, binding and loosening essentially will cover any situation that can come against you.

If evil or hindering forces are at work in your life you can bind them in Jesus name.

If resources or provisions of any kind are needed, or if people are in any form of bondage you can loose them in Jesus name

But you have to agree that touching anything that you ask, it shall be done.

John 14: 13-14   13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD

                                              IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD

2 Chronicles 7:14    14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The people who are called by His name are believers and God is telling us that if we want to be filled with his presence, we must do the following things.

Humble ourselves and pray, seek his face, and turn from our wicked ways. God does not promise us benefits from disobedience.

God is saying, stop seeking His benefits and seek Him. We are not to seek His hands, but seek his face.

Matthew 6:33   33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

If you’re not where you need to be this is a good time to get right with God. He only cares about your answer to one question, “do you want Me?”

God is coming back to repossess the church and there is only one thing that stops Him… he is not going to pour out his spirit where he doesn’t find hunger for His presence.

Psalms 140:13   13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

This is not a request if we want His presence, we must stay focused on him as our creator and our God and give thanks unto his name. which is the great I Am—not I was

Not being hungry for Him has forced people to live without Him in His fullness. He will only come when you are ready to turn it all over to him. But you have to be hungry.

Matthew 3:1-2    In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Repentance prepares the way and makes the road of our hearts straight. Repentance builds up every low place and takes down every high place in our lives, church, and families.

Repentance also prepares us for his presence. In fact, you cannot live in His presence without repentance. Repentance permits pursuit of His presence.

It builds the road for you to get to God, (or for God to get to you). How long has it been since we’ve laid aside everything that ever occupied us and ran down the road of repentance to pursue God.

When you pursue God with all your heart, soul and body, he will turn to meet you and you will come out of it ruined for the world.

Matthew 5:6   Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

If we are hungry and thirst after God and His righteousness, then we will be filled with the fulness of His presence.

To be in the presence of God is to be in a state of absence from any worldly thought, or action. To be totally Christ minded or Christ Like.

If you are hungry for God, I have a promise from the Lord for you. He said, blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.

The problem is that people have never really been hungry, so I am not asking what do you know about Him, I am asking you do you know Him.

When people get just a little touch of God mixed with a lot of something that’s not God, it turns them against the real thing. People don’t sense Gods presence in our gatherings because it’s just not there.

People have come to the churches time and again only to find too much man and too little of God there.

Over and over we talk about the glory of God covering the earth. But how is it going to flow through the streets of our cities if it can’t even flow down the aisles of our churches?

If Gods glory can’t flow through the aisles of the church because of seducing spirits and manipulating men, God will turn and go somewhere else.

No matter what you need or feel you lack in your life, what you really need is the presence of God, and the way to get it is to get hungry for it.

If we can get hungry, then He can make us holy. There has to be more than what we are seeing. One reason I know there is more, is because of those who have encountered more.

Once you experience God in His glory, you can’t turn away from him or forget his touch. There will be a driving passion in your heart that will whisper to your spirit like nothing you have ever dreamed of.

You will say I know there is more, the reason I know there’s more is because of those who have encountered “the more”

And we are never the same after our experience with the Lord.

Once you have had a “God encounter” you will never rebel against God. That is why Paul said, “I know whom I have believed”.

2 Timothy 1:9-12   Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Even when facing execution, Paul’s hope and joy never wavered. He knew the power of God to deliver him to endure. These last days we will need Gods presence and the word working in our lives as we do have an adversary called Satan who very much wants to control us.

It seems that believers have more of a “man encounter” with our programs and bi-laws, than a “God encounter” with the unforgettable Majesty and power of the Almighty God.

What believers need is a Damascus road experience like “Saul or Paul” encountered with Jesus himself.

Acts 9:3-5    And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

The word pricks, comes from a stick on the oxen drawn cart. The stick was to guide the oxen.

Churches and most believers want to see the manifest presence of God in their life, however for divine reasons, God chooses to reveal himself more strongly in one place than another.

One reason is; are the people seeking His face, because His presence and his favor flows wherever His face is directed.

God told all his people for generations that if they would seek his face and turn from their wicked ways, “then” he would hear from them and heal their land.

The only thing that is going to turn the favor of God toward us is our hunger for Him.

Psalms 32:8   I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Most of the time God is present with you and other believers in a worship service, but how long has it been since your hunger caused you to crawl up in Gods lap like a child.

Matthew 18:3   And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

To reach up and take the face of God to turn it toward you, that’s what God desires, His face is what we should be our highest focus.

When the anointing of God rests on human flesh it makes everything flow better. The purpose of the anointing is not to make man like you but to make the “King like you”.

The anointing, whether it falls on us individually or on a congregation during a service, is not the end.

The anointing of God is His presence.

The purpose of the anointing is to help us make the transition from flesh to glory. When the glory of God comes, our flesh will be so weakened by His presence that it is un-necessary for man to do anything other than behold Him in His glory. Because of sin we can’t stand in Gods glory and live.

Matthew 27:46   46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

We want God to change the world, but he cannot change the world until he can change us. In our present state, we are in no position to affect anything.

But something is happening in the body of Christ. More and more of us are unwilling to play the old religious games.

Something like a warrior spirit is rising up within us.

Ephesians 6:10-11   10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

A warrior natural or spiritual,

A person experienced or engaged in warfare. We as believers are to be warriors on the spiritual aspect of our lives. That is why we need both Gods armor and his presence.

Time and time again we ask, why can’t I win my friends to the Lord, why doesn’t my family members seem interested in God?

The answer may shock you, but the reason people who know you aren’t interested in your God may be because you don’t have enough of the presence of God in your life.

No matter what you do, without His presence, you will be just another somebody to those around you.

Our churches are filled with people who want Gods things, but not more of God. They want revival but not the reviver. They want the hand of God but not the Face of God.

Christians are not hungry for God. They want all His blessings, they want all His gifts, they want the best portion, they want, they want, they want. But they won’t turn from their own way of thinking and/or their wicked ways.

God wants us to seek His presence and seek His face and to get serious about Him. At the end of the day we most likely manufacture memorized words, lay back in His presence just long enough to say our memorized string of words and deliver our wish list. That is not Christ like.

Then we Jump up and run off to continue our frustrated rat race lives. Much of the time many fail to find that place of perfect peace.

All God wants us to do is seek Him and trust Him. He is waiting to receive our most intimate worship and praise.

He has set before us an open door, but we will have to face Him. We cannot back our way into the door of eternity, we have to walk through the door by our own choice.

I am not saying this because you don’t know Gods word, on the contrary, I am saying this because the Lord wants to develop a new level of intimacy with His people.

He wants us to know Him, not just about Him. When will we stop long enough to hear Gods still small voice saying, “will you just love me”?

GETTING BEYOND THE PHYSICAL REALM

GETTING BEYOND THE PHYSICAL REALM

Getting beyond the physical realm is all about what you feel. How you think and most of all are you willing to follow Gods instruction book, the bible.

You must learn to stop speaking doubt and unbelief into your life.

Proverbs 18:21   21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Christians who constantly talk doubt are actually talking death to their own physical and spiritual bodies. When you speak what the word of God says you are speaking life to your physical and spiritual bodies.

James 1:26   26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

If any man among you seems to be religious or spiritual and can’t control their tongue you are deceiving your own heart and their religion or profession is in vain, or worthless, having no genuine substance, value or importance. We must learn from Gods word by the Holy Spirit how to conduct our wording as we speak.

You need to understand that you have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. In Christ we have all the benefits of knowing God.

Having been chosen for salvation, being adopted as His children we have access to forgiveness, insight, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, power- to do Gods will, and the hope of living forever with His son, Christ Jesus, are some of the benefits we receive as children of God.

These gifts are eternal, not temporal and not from our earthly realm. God has adopted us as his very own children through Christ Jesus’ sacrifice. You have been brought into the family of God and made heirs to the kingdom.

Here is what you should do, express your thanks for his wonderful love and loving kindness and live righteous before Him. You are not saved because we deserve it, but because God is gracious. There is no way you can take credit by your own actions for your salvation.

The cross of calvary that Jesus died on has made it possible for you to rise above and beyond the physical realm by accepting the finished work at the cross by Gods son, Jesus: Therefore, being led by His Holy Spirit of truth.

How do you rise from the way you see yourself to the way God sees us? By reading Gods word, the Holy Spirit will communicate it to your spirit. The word cannot be understood by our natural minds.

Your spirit must rule the mind, you must not allow what you experience in this physical realm or with your emotions to control what you think.

The promises of God activated in your hearts by the Holy Spirit confirms a higher spiritual reality. It is discernment, the ability to conceive of something that you cannot see with your natural eyes.

Most people’s circumstances fall between two realities, the physical and the spiritual reality. The natural reality that you were born into and the spiritual one we were supernaturally born again into. The born-again reality has a higher spiritual reality. It is the ability to see ourselves the way God sees us.

As you walk daily, you see only your physical or human reality. This is why you need to have your focus on your power and authority from God to be able to live the blessed life God has planned for you.

You must go beyond the physical realm in order to get into the arena of doing things in our spiritual strength. Your natural mind will lead you to try and do things in your own strength.

This physical realm can be very destructive to us. It can lead to fear, stress, confusion, depression, and many other detrimental things. It is important that we make right decisions for the right reasons.

Instead of turning to drugs or alcohol turn to God. Your decisions could determine your eternity and where you will spend it.

Don’t let the whispers of Satan push you into giving up or quitting. Keep going, turn to the heavenly Father.

Proverbs 18:20   20 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

You can actually speak life and death to your spiritual life and your physical life with your words.

You need to seek through Gods words the direction for your life, stay out of thinking in worldly ways. Listen to that quiet voice of the Holy Spirit, seek Gods presence. God wants to speak with you every day. He is looking for a relationship with you.

This is Christian reality. You are responsible for your spiritual life if you are a baptized believer. Continue to confess, I am a believer, I am a child of God, a believer, an heir to the kingdom of God by Christ Jesus.

If you haven’t accepted Jesus as Savior, now is a good time to ask Him to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life.

John 14:6   Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

This proclaims in no uncertain terms exactly who and what Jesus is. The only way to have a relationship with God the Father is through his son Jesus.

Remember that Gods word is His will for your life.

May he be ever present with you.

Stay in the word,

Pastor Andy

THE POWER AND AUTHORITY WITHIN US

THE POWER AND AUTHORITY WITHIN US

Not only is there power and authority, there is also dominion. In Genesis 1 we see that Adam was to have dominion on planet earth, just as God has dominion in Heaven.

God was wanting to have a duplicate of heaven on Earth. God created Adam in His own likeness and let him have dominion on Earth. Dominion means supreme authority.

When Adam willfully disobeyed God and allowed an intruder, Satan, to enter and take away, with the temptation eating of the tree that God has told him not to partake of, he lost what was given to him by God which was dominion, ownership of the Earth.

God had a plan to give man a chance to regain the dominion of the Earth. When the timing was right God sent Jesus to Earth.

Jesus came not only to save mankind but also to take the crown off Satan’s head and place it once again on man’s head. Jesus operated on earth as a man, a covenant man. Not as the son of God. Jesus did not operate in his deity.

He first taught his disciples to walk in dominion and delegated authority to them.

Luke 9:1-2    Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

Luke 9:10   10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

This is how he taught his disciples to have dominion, using their power and authority.

Revelation 1:18   18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

When the time became right for Jesus to sacrifice himself for mankind he went willfully to the cross. He made a show of Satan and took the keys of death, hell and the grave. He took mans crown of glory back from the devil and returned it to us.

Mark 16:16-18     16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Matthew 28:18-20   18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

These verses in Matthew and Mark are called the great commission. This great commission is why Jesus gave His authority to believers. Without the power of God, the authority of the believer would be useless. Jesus gave the authority; you exercise that authority in obedience and God supplies the power and the ability.

We have authority as a believer and God has the ability. God is able and willing. He is waiting for us to believe and release our authority. God wants us to exercise our authority. That is the express purpose of why Jesus gave it to us.

Jesus is the head and we are the body of Christ. We are his hands and feet and we verbalize about him and what he did for us to others. If we are faithful to do as he asks, he is faithful to keep his promises.

Here is another verse that reinforces our understanding of authority.

Matthew 18:18   18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Verily here means truly, or this is the truth. This verse has a two-fold application. When we bind or loose something on earth, it is loosed or bound in heaven. When we bind or loose all of heavens power backs up our authority.

The second application of this verse is that what we bind or loose on earth is bound or loosed in the heavenlies. The heavenlies here refers to Satan’s sphere as the prince of power of the air: or to spiritual wickedness in high places.

When we exercise our authority on earth, Satan’s realm must adhere to our commands. As we use our authority, we invoke the name of Jesus, for it is through him that our authority flows.

When you speak the name of Jesus you are speaking the entire bible to the devil in one word. When you say Jesus, you have said it all. In His name we can do anything. God is able, Jesus is able and his name if able.

Behind the name of Jesus is the corporate structure of the power of the universe, the kingdom of God. His name is the most exalted name in the universe.

Philippians 2:9-11   Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

At the name of Jesus all of heaven stands at attention and all of hell trembles. The power of God is always there to heal, prosper and to provide when there is no other way. The power of God is always present because God is always present.

Faith moves God, faith brings things from Gods kingdom to your life. Satan will let you down, the world system will let you down. What will you do when the world system crumbles? Only faith in Gods word and his kingdom will sustain you through times of peril.

VICTORY OVER THE DARKNESS

VICTORY OVER THE DARKNESS

John 8:32   32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus promises His people that, “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” If it takes the truth to make us free, then we must seek the truth that John is speaking of.

Our identity in Christ Jesus is a fundamental truth that we believers need to understand, if we are to experience this promised freedom and grow to maturity in our Christian faith.

We tend to identify ourselves and each other by what we look like, what we do and perhaps even our denominational preference. Is who you are determined by what you do, or look like, or believe in or is what you do, look like and believe determining who you are.

Your understanding of who you are is the critical foundation for your belief structure and your behavior patterns as a Christian. The only identity equation that works in Gods kingdom is you plus Christ. You plus Christ equals wholeness and gives your life meaning.

In Gods kingdom everyone has the same opportunity for a meaningful life. The wholeness and meaning of life are not products of what you have or don’t have. What you’ve done or haven’t done. In Christ you are already a whole person and already possess a life of infinite meaning and purposes because you are a child of God.

The truth is the key to having victory over darkness. The truth is His word. His word is His will for our lives which is the glory of God within us through Christ Jesus.

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

As you were born again, that rebirth, caused the glory of God in you. the faith of God is in you and the mind of Christ is in you. More important the love of God is in you. you have to walk in that glory even in the face of the devil’s attacks on your life.

Dare to release your expectancy of glory and before long you will realize you have it and more. There is no glory in the god of unbelievers because Satan and all he stands for is their god.

When your belief system is intact and your relationship with God is based on truth you will have little if any difficulty working out the practical aspects of daily Christianity.

1 John 5:4-5   For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

If we follow Gods prescribed order, we will overcome the darkness of the world. Faith in Gods word and what was finished at the cross gives us the victory over the darkness of the world.

This darkness that I am speaking of is some of the evil things that we are seeing on the news of today, killing for no reason, cheating, hating each other, stealing, looting, and many other sorts of meanness.

These things are the works of darkness and the devil is having a hay day. Convincing people that this is ok, it is not ok and never will be. An unbeliever cannot understand what I am trying to say, because they know nothing of God and live carnally.

Until they make Jesus the Lord of their lives by accepting him as savior, they will never have this spiritual wisdom. Wisdom comes by the Holy Spirit, people who have not accepted Jesus as Savior do not have the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit does give spiritual knowledge. Wisdom and knowledge are not the same.

1 Corinthians 12:8   For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

God is saying here that people are sots, or stupid, or drunks and do not know me. They are wise to do evil but have no idea how to do good.

They have no knowledge of God, despite the fact that they were Gods people. Their lack of knowledge of God was due to their abandonment of the word.

To many people listen to the knowledge of men and have no desire to learn of the knowledge of the word.

Once again, the Holy Spirit tells us that all of our knowledge is futile unless we have the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom.

This truth will give you victory over the evil spirit of darkness.

Stay in the word,

CREATED IN HIS IMAGE

CREATED IN HIS IMAGE

Genesis 1:26-27   26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

The creation of humans as male and female, forms the high point of the chapter. Unlike the rest of creation man and woman were created in Gods image, able to reason, to create and to commune with their creator. Gods desire is always to rescue that which he values most highly, the human race.

We are made in the image of the triune God, which is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, not only us but they too are relational beings. Likeness indicates physical similarity, not just a spiritual resemblance.

Both male and female at creation was made in Gods image. Proving that neither gender is superior to the other. They each equally reflect his character and are Gods masterpiece.

Genesis 3:16   16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

This change came about after they disobeyed God in the garden of Eden. It is what God said to Eve.

Genesis 3:17   17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

God said this to Adam. Adam bore the weight of the curse of the ground, not humans. No curse was put on Adam and Eve, only the serpent and the ground.

When Christ returns after the seven-year tribulation to rule and reign on this earth during the millennium, life will resume as it was before the curse. Full resolution will be the eternal state.

Being created in the image of God is like when you take a photo of another person, the photo you have taken is only an image of the person, not the person itself.

God desires we as humans to seek Him as our heavenly Father, not just as an image. He walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden before the fall. He just wants to love us and for us to love Him and put Him first in our lives.

Your image of who you are is your identity and we must guard our identity and shift it to reflect God in our every day lives. The way to do that is to believe in Gods word. It will produce faith. Faith grows out of us reading and believing in the word of God, not by praying for more faith.

Prayer does not cause faith to work, faith causes prayer to work. Our faith should never be allowed to stand still, we must expect the word of God to come to pass and believe it will manifest what we pray.

Faith is released by your words, supported with action. Once you understand how faith works you will understand how to bring things from the unseen realm of God to the seen realm of planet earth.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Gods eyes we are more than conquers, we are in Christ, and Christ is in us. It is called the great exchange.

Not only was man created in the image of God but was created in Gods class to be the associate and companion of Deity.

Mark 9:23   23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

All things are possible to God, and we are born of God: which makes all things possible to the new creation, which are the believers. He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

2 Timothy 1:7   For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

The person who realizes he is actually been born again in Gods image will no longer be lorded over by Satan through fear and sin.

14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

We have been trouble minded, poverty minded, sickness minded, weakness minded, and death minded. We have therefore been busy attending to all of these things.

Proverbs 4:20-23   20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

We must look to Gods word as the final authority in our lives bringing our spirit into the ascendance by meditation on the word of God. You can’t be a doer of the word and talk in unbelief.

God is a spirit, those that worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. The soul praises God the spirit worships God. Worship is man’s reaction to Gods holiness and his word. It means to bow down before Him. Putting His word absolutely as number one in our lives.

1 Corinthians 1:30-31   30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

There are four major forces of the recreated human spirit. Faith, righteousness, wisdom, and love. Faith is not the product of reason, it is born of the human spirit at the time of conversion.

The reborn person is a faith being and is to live in the likeness of His heavenly Father. To live as one with God, is a far higher and more divine life than to simply live our life in submission to God.

We must seek to become righteous minded and lean hard on God given righteousness and believe that He can do all things. Don’t be inferior minded. Be bold in your praise and worship, seek Him as a loving Father. He is waiting for us to reach out to him in loving worship.

Stay in the word.
