Point of Division

April 29

Before the cross, mankind was living under the Law of Moses. The Ten Commandments.

Read Romans 15:4... Paul is saying, the ten commandments were written at this time for our learning. That through patience and confidence of the scripture, we might have hope.

What is the purpose of hope? Faith is built on hope, and the word says without faith it is impossible to please God.

Read Matthew 5:17 “Jesus is speaking”, don’t think that I have come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy the law, but rather to fulfill it.

In other words he did not come to set aside Moses teachings or those of the prophets. Rather I came to make them come true.

The good news is we have a new covenant through Jesus and the cross of Calvary. We are under the allotted time of Gods grace.

We are not under the law any more, even though a lot of people, including Christians are still trying to live under the law.

They keep thinking, if I can just be good enough, God will love me and I will go to heaven. When in reality Jesus’ death and resurrection made that possible. When he shed his blood on the cross, He did it all.

If we could have been good enough, Jesus would not have had to redeem us with his blood. It is not what we can do, It is what Jesus has done for us.

It is time for people to stop trying to live under the law, the law was given to the people to live by until the time of the cross.

We now have a new covenant, and it supersedes the old covenant of the law of Moses. The law does not have dominion over us anymore, Jesus gave us a new covenant, a clear path to get to heaven.

The law demands you to be righteous. Due to human weakness we can not be righteous by our own merit. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, His grace gives us righteousness.

Gods Grace will bring you into a place of peace and rest, the law will bring you into a place of self condemnation.

When your under the law, your eyes are covered. When you are under grace the veil is lifted.

When you are trying to live under the law you can’t see all that God has already provided for you.

For every problem in our lives God has a provision.

You have been set free from the law of bondage, thanks be to God, because of the love and obedience of his Son, Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

May God’s countenance shine upon you.

Brother Andy
