THE ASSURANCE OF GODS WORD
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is
impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
If you want
this assurance of God’s word to be perfected in your life, you must have faith
enough to believe that God is, and will do what His inspired word says it will
do.
Believing
that God exists is only the beginning. Even the demons believed that much. God
will not settle for mere acknowledgement of His existence. He wants a personal
relationship with you. A relationship that will transform your life.
Those who
seek God will find that they are rewarded with his intimate presence. God
assures us that all who honestly seek him, who act in faith on the knowledge of
God will be rewarded.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all
good works.
The
whole bible is Gods inspired word. Because it is trustworthy, we should read it
and apply it to our life. The bible is our standard for testing everything else
that claims to be true. It is our safeguard against false teachings.
It
is our source of guidance for how we should live and be saved. All scripture
that is inspired by God is useful to teach us what is true and to make us
realize what is wrong in our lives. It teaches us what is right.
It
is God’s way of preparing us in every way and to equip us for every good thing
God wants us to do.
Hebrews
6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God
to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay
hold upon the hope set before us:
God
took an oath so that those who received the promise, (Jesus) could be perfectly
sure that He would never change His mind.
God
has given us, both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable
because it is impossible for God to lie.
Therefore,
we who have run to him for refuge can take new courage by holding on to His
promise with confidence.
Titus
1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised
before the world began;
This
truth gives us the confidence of eternal life, which God promised us before the
creation of the world began. He cannot lie because God is all truth.
Because
God is all truth and cannot lie, what he says he will do must come to pass.
Confidence is nothing more than trusting God, believing that no matter what,
God will always be there.
Hebrews
13:5-6 Let your conversation be without
covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I
will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not
fear what man shall do unto me.
This
is why we can say with confidence; the Lord is my helper, we can trust that God
will always meet our needs. Whatever we need God can supply, but we must
remember there is a difference between our wants and our needs.
Matthew
6:33 33 But seek ye first the
kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto
you.
To
make the kingdom of God your primary concern, means to put God first in your
life. To fill your thoughts with His desires, to serve and obey Him in
everything. You can actively choose Him as having first place in all areas of
your life.
John
10:10 10 The thief cometh not, but
for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly.
God
says my purpose is to give life in all fullness, in contrast to the thief who
takes life. Jesus gives life, the life He gives is abundantly rich and full. It
is eternal, yet it begins immediately through faith and trust in His death,
burial and resurrection.
The
bottom line is, you want what God has, God wants you to have what he has. You
haven’t been getting what God wants to give you. God has been dealing with that
same problem since Adam and Eve.
Here
is some of the problems God deals with us humans:
1. The only time we talk to God
is when we need or want something.
2. We don’t receive, because we must
believe that we receive when we pray. We only hope.
God
likes us enough to hand it to us, if only we will believe we receive.
Sometimes
we use God like an insurance policy. We don’t reach out to him until we crash.
Stop treating God like the heavenly handy man and start praising him like the
loving heavenly father he is. He wants us to talk to him every day just like we
talk to our mom or dad. He loves us and
wants a relationship with us.
Stay
in the word,
Brother
Andy
