Giants in the Land
Genesis 4: 8 And Cain talked with
Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain
rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Genesis 4:15-17 And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
16 And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the
17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
Genesis 6:1-3 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face
of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
When the human population began to grow rapidly on the
earth, the sons of God, who are believed to be fallen angels saw the
beautiful women of the human race; they took any women they wanted as their
wives.
Then the Lord said, My spirit
will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal
flesh, in the future they will live no more than one hundred and twenty years.
This has been interpreted by
some to mean that God was allowing the people of Noah’s day 120 years to change
their sinful ways.
God shows His great patience
with us as well, He is giving us time to quit living our way and begin living
His way.
The way He shows in his word.
While 120 years seems like a long time, eventually time runs out.
Genesis 6:4-5 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
These giants were people, probably nine or ten feet tall, the same Hebrew term was used to name a tall race of people in Numbers 13:32-33 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Half fallen evil spirits,
half Human.
Goliath who was over nine
feet tall also has four brothers, that is why David picked up five smooth
stones.
1st Samuel 17:2-4 And Saul and the men of
3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and

These giants used their
physical advantage to oppress the people around them. They were very
aggressive.
In those days and even
afterwards giants lived on the earth for whenever the sons of God had
intercourse with human women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes
mentioned in legends of old.
The Lord saw the extent of
the peoples wickedness and he saw that all their thoughts were totally evil.
Genesis 6:6-8 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
God was not admitting he made man and it was a
mistake.
Instead he was expressing
sorrow for what the people had done to themselves. God was sorry that the
people chose sin and death instead of a relationship with him.
The people’s sin grieved God,
like our sins break Gods heart, as much as sin did in Noah’s day.
Noah pleased God even though
he was far from perfect.
Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Noah lived after the flood
350 years, and all the days of Noah were 950 years.
Through Noah’s grand sons we
get Abram who God gave the name Abraham.
Abraham had a son named
Isaac, Isaac and Rebekah had a son called Jacob, and through generations came
Moses.
Exodus 1:15-22 And the king of
16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.
17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of

19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.
20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.
22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
Exodus 2:1-10 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife
a daughter of Levi.
2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.
9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it.
10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.
So Moses grew up and killed
an Egyptian for beating a Hebrew brethren.
When Pharoah heard this he
was going to have Moses killed, but Moses fled, and lived in the land of Midian .
Exodus 3:2-8 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
4 And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
7 And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in
8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
Pharaoh finally let the Israel
people leave after God causes plagues to come on them. After they left he
changed his mind and takes his whole army to stop them.
Then Moses raised his hand
over the sea, and the lord opened the water to dry land. Pharaoh’s army
followed them and God drowned them.
They went on their way to
complete their trip to the promise land. God reminded them when they reach the
promise land to don’t defile their selves as the Canaanites are doing.
As they traveled into the desert of Zin there was no water for the
congregation and the Lord spoke to Moses saying take the rod and gather the
assembly.
9 And Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as he commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of
Numbers 14: 30-33 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
31 But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
32 But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.
33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
Deuteronomy 31:14
And the Lord
said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and
present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a
charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle
of the congregation.

9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.
10 And there arose not a prophet since in
11 In all the signs and the wonders, which the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
