USING THE POWER OF PRAYER

Using the power of prayer

Words are the most powerful thing in the universe, especially when you are praying. When God created the Heaven and earth, he did it by speaking it into existence with words.

It worked by using the spoken word, or because of words. When we pray, God always hears our prayers.

If you feel like God doesn’t always answer your prayers you will like what we will be studying today.

Read John 16: 23-24          23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

What day was he talking about? The day he ascends and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Jesus said to ask the Father in His name. There is not any other way. Doing it this way gives the glory to the Father.

However we are to tell Jesus how much we love him and appreciate him. But when it comes to praying and asking, we must ask the Father, asking through the Lord Jesus, or in Jesus name. We as believers have the name of Jesus to access everything in heaven and on earth that God has made available for us.

Read Eph 3: 14-16   14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

It is not so important which church you belong to, rather to whose family you belong to. Most people know about praying to God, but they know nothing about praying to the Father. Most don’t sound as if they really know him.

He is God to the world but heavenly father to the believer. There is a real joy in knowing that the Father will answer our prayers.

Read John 16: 24   24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Jesus is asking a question. Ask and ye shall receive that your joy may be full. Nehemiah 8: 10 says, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Joy has to be maintained even before the manifestation comes or before you receive what you asked for.

Read Eph 5: 20   20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Paul is telling us that it is to the father, and not to Jesus that we give thanks. However, the name of Jesus is the access to the heart of the Father. Using the name of Jesus at the end of your prayer is the same as using a paper that gives you power of attorney you are using that authority that Jesus left here with us.

We have the name of Jesus that unlocks the power over the devil, sickness and disease, and poverty.  We use this power over ourselves our household and our children.

If a person goes to his car to unlock the door, he would say that he unlocked the door, when in reality the Key actually does the unlocking. The key does the work, and starts the ignition. The key is an important factor.

The point here is the name of Jesus is the key to the possible. Nothing is impossible in the name of Jesus.

The name of Jesus belongs to the believer. The believer must use it according to the word. That name has authority in heaven and on earth.

You have the right to use Jesus name. Just as an attorney would have the right to use your name with a power of attorney document.

Read Matthew 18: 19     19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Read Mark 11: 24   24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

The key here is Believe… then you receive… Stand firm and believe.

Stay in the word,

Brother Andy
